Our houses are located in the neighborhood " Los Aposentos". You can walk on the beach to Canoa within approx. 20 minutes - preferably during low tide. By car it is approximately 5 minutes.
Within a short 5-minute walk from the house, there is a pathway leading down a cliff to the public beach. Descending the hill is not very difficult, but you should be comfortable walking on uneven terrain.
This area is separated from Canoa Beach by a rock formation, making it less crowded and almost like a private beach for our neighborhood. If you continue walking for about 10-15 minutes, you will reach the expansive Canoa Beach, which stretches for 17km all the way to San Vicente.
Only 5 minutes walking from the house, you can also visit a small bay with caves. It is only accessible during low tide.
A taxi should cost about $4.
Yes, we have fiber optic internet and we have had many guest that have been able to work from our place without any problems.
However, this is still latin america, and power cuts happen from time to time ( I´d say approx. 1-2 times a month).
I´d recommend buying a local SIM card (Claro) and using your local internet during the power cuts. Normally they don´t last longer than 2-3 hours.
In general, our houses can be accessed by any type of car. However, during the winter season (from January until mid-May), accessibility may be subject to weather conditions. When there is heavy rainfall in the nearby mountains, the river levels may rise, rendering it impassable for approximately 4-5 hours. This occurrence happens 2-3 times throughout the winter period. While it is not a major concern, it is important to be aware of this possibility.
There are different options to arrive to our place:
Both internation airports Quito and Guayaquil can be choosen. There might be even flights to Manta Airport from some destinations.

The climate can be divided into two seasons: winter and summer.
During winter (approximately January to May), temperatures rise and the rainy season begins. Days are sunny and hot, with occasional rainfall mainly at night. The landscape turns green, insects become more prevalent, and the best surfing waves can be found.
In May and June, the weather becomes cloudier as the dry season starts. Temperatures average around 23 degrees Celsius during the day and 19 degrees Celsius at night. The number of clear days decreases and insect activity decreases. The landscape transitions from green to brown as trees lose their leaves.
By November and December, the weather becomes sunnier and temperatures begin to rise again, signaling the arrival of summer.
